Z8012 Rat Tail Pain Detector

The light-induced tail-flick method (also known as the photothermal tail-flick method or radiant heat tail-flick method) for the rodent tail pain tester works on the basic principle of irradiating a beam of light onto the rodent's tail to generate a heat collection effect. This causes local heating of the tail, producing a pain sensation. When the pain threshold of the animal is exceeded, the animal will flick its tail to escape. This method of judging the level and changes of the animal's pain threshold is called the light-induced tail-flick method.
